We are so glad that she is finally here! She is keeping us very busy with all of the hugs and kisses that she needs! We have been taking a lot of pictures and will post them just as soon as we can. In the meantime, thank you for all of the calls, emails, comments, thoughts, prayers, etc. We are so blessed with such amazing family and friends!

3.26.08Baby Watch 2008…Update #5

by Quinn

No progress to report, only next steps….I go in for induction on Wednesday, April 2nd at midnight. She is still tucked away and making no attempt to join us! I will undergo a manual dilation procedure once I get to the hospital and then we will see how I progress. So, hopefully Avery will make her grand entrance sometime on Wednesday, April 2nd. I am not looking forward to waiting another week but it would be pretty cool if she was born on the 2nd. She would then share a birthday with my Uncle Ron who passed over a year ago. Actually, it’s probably Uncle Ron, helping to arrange this with God, because I know he would get a huge kick out of his Great Niece sharing his birthday!!! :) I will continue to keep you posted. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts, comments, emails, and phone calls!

Baby’s First Easter Wilson in Avery’s hat

No Easter baby for us! Oh well, that’s okay, I totally know the importance of being fashionably late! I couldn’t resist buying this super cute Easter outfit for Avery a few weeks ago, convinced she would be here by the 23rd. Well, the day has come and gone and this adorable little onesie and hat was left unworn! So, whoever has a baby around this time next year…I will gladly pass it along to you! Oh, and you know I had to try to put that hat on Wilson…he was NOT pleased! Haha!

39 weeksWell, still no progress at my appointment today. Actually, I have regressed! The baby had dropped a week or so ago but now she has moved back up and my stomach is actually measuring smaller than last week. Is that even possible? I go back next week and will have an ultrasound as well as a few other tests. Depending on those results….they will decide what to do with me. I will be sure to keep you updated! In the meantime, here is a quick shot of me at 39 weeks.

38 Weeks - 3D Ultrasound38 weeks pregnant and still no progress at my doctor’s appointment today. However, we were fortunate enough to have another ultrasound and get another really cute 3D picture of Avery Jayne. They are currently estimating her weight to be 7 lbs 7 ounces. Dr. Chen says she is perfectly healthy and ready to come into the world…mama just needs to dilate!!! He said that the longest he will let me go is April 2nd. (Which seems like forever away!!) But we go back in a week and maybe there will be some progress by then!!! Stay tuned…….

3.7.08The final countdown…

by Quinn

Today is my last day of work before I go on maternity leave! I can hardly believe that this day, March 7, 2008 is finally here. It’s been on my calendar for months and is the “last” big thing that needs to happen before baby arrives! It almost feels surreal! I had a hard time sleeping last night, thinking about this day. Even though I am so glad to have this time off and will hopefully have the opportunity to rest….it will be a very strange feeling, waking up on Monday, and just NOT going to work!!! I am excited to be home with Wilson, full-time. I keep telling him that I am now his stay-at-home-mommy for the next three months or so! Call me crazy but I think he is really excited about it. Ha!

3.4.08Baby Watch 2008…Update #2

by Quinn

Another week, another doctor’s appointment! Unfortunately, there was very little change. Still not dilated, still not effaced….but, apparently Avery HAS dropped which I understand to be a good thing. I go back on Tuesday, March 11th for another check-up and an ultrasound. They still think that Miss Avery is going to be giant, so they want to get some final measurements. Expect another update next week unless they tell me that I can just head right over to the hospital to deliver! (Haha! Doubtful!) I want to wish my friend Betsy a very happy birthday! We are due on the same day and she was just put on bed-rest. I will be thinking of you, Betsy, hoping you are keeping yourself entertained. I bet Tucker loves having a stay-at-home-mommy!

Packing mom’s hospital bag Testing out the stroller

Patrick spent the day working so Wilson and I spent the day nesting! He tested out some baby gear for Avery, helped me pack my hospital bag and we also did Avery’s laundry. (As you can see, Wilson was a good sport through all of this and provided me with an afternoon of entertainment while I got my work done!)

3.1.0837 weeks down…3 to go

by Quinn

37 WeeksHere I am at 37 weeks! We had our last childbirth class today and spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. We were able to get the majority of the remaining items from our registry and lots of other goodies. I, unfortunately, took a tumble on the ice today. I am totally fine and so is the baby but my back hurts pretty bad, which stinks! Hopefully with Sunday’s 50 degree weather the ice will soon be long gone!
