…that’s good enough for me! Well, Avery took the message on her jammies, “Time for Cookies” quite literally! Here she is eating a vanilla oreo (So good, who could blame her?!) on her pretty pink chair. As per usual, she made a huge mess!

We went out to Tinley Park on Saturday for a visit with Zach. Avery was so excited to see Zach and could barely contain herself. She was rolling around, jumping, showing off, swatting at Zach, kissing him, being so goofy…I have never seen her act like this! It was pretty funny! I wish she would have been a little more gentle with him but I guess she doesn’t quite know her own strength? It was a nice time for mommy too since I got the chance to visit with some very good friends! Thanks for the food and fun, Kim, Meg, and Jaime! (I am so sorry if Avery kept you up with her terrible cough!!)

We had the pleasure of joining Alicia and Carolynn at the beach on Friday. Maddy, Avery, and Mallory had such a great time splashing, playing, and eating. Oh, and the grown-up-girls had lots of fun too! Hope to spend more time there this summer!

Avery’s first day of big-girl daycare was today. She did really well! She ate all of her breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Unfortunately, she only took about a 45 minutes nap but it is my understanding that it will take a few weeks for her to get used to sleeping on a cot. As a result, it’s 6:30 pm and she is already in bed! She received a special visit from Ms. Katrina…one of her teachers from baby daycare, so I think that made her feel very comfortable. Tomorrow is another day and I know that as each day passes it will get easier and easier.

We surprised Daddy with tickets to the Cubs game on Friday for his special father’s day treat! He was super excited and could hardly wait to take Avery to Wrigley Field. She did pretty well. As long as we were feeding her, she was content! Between the three of us, we ate: Nachos, hot dogs, french fries, ice cream, and cotton candy. (Goodness!) The weather held out and we had a really nice day at the ball park! Oh, and best of all….the Cubbies won!

We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to gather as a family last Saturday in Indiana. Tim (Patrick’s cousin) and his wife, Heidi, were in town from Utah with their 5 boys…yes, 5 kids…ALL boys! They are a beautiful family and it was such a pleasure to meet them after all of these years. (As you can imagine, flying across the country with 5 children isn’t something that happens very often!) It was a blast to watch all of the kids play. There were so many it was hard to keep track! I am thrilled that Avery has so many cousins. She enjoyed the day and went through 3 outfits because she got each one of them muddy from playing outside! Busha was able to attend and we were all thrilled….this was one of the first times in a long time that most of the family was all together! Thanks for a great party, Aunt Marcia!

Congrats to our graduate, Avery Jayne! Avery graduated from infant daycare on Friday, June 12th. We are so proud of her and excited for her new adventures at the big girl daycare! We leave infant daycare with a great amount of sadness as we have all grown so close to her teachers. They have helped us raise Avery and have become such an important presence in her life. We love them and they will be missed tremendously! We will keep them “alive” in Avery’s mind by showing her pictures and telling stories. Hopefully we will be able to drop by on occasion to see them, as well. Thank you to 219 for all of your love, your patience, and for just being you! Congrats, Avery! (You will notice that Avery was very stoic during the ceremony…graduation always brings a range of bittersweet emotions!)
