7.15.10The writing on the wall
by Quinn
Miss Avery expressed her creativity today…on the wall. She felt guilty immediately. Check out those puppy dog eyes! Awww! Oh well, nothing a little magic eraser can’t fix!

We had a great time celebrating our country’s independence at Matt and Jill’s house this year. It was such a great time for the kids because they could just run up and down the lane and have free reign! Avery was REALLY scared of the fireworks so the night ended with all three girls cuddling with Jill and watching The Sound of Music. Thanks so much for having us, it was a fun time! Happy 4th!
7.3.10Mommy & Me Pedi’s
by Quinn
Avery had her very first pedicure today! Well, actually I was “pedicured” while Avery sat on my lap and enjoyed having her toenails painted pretty in pink. She was fascinated by the entire process and couldn’t be happier with the flowers they put on our toes. She continues to say, “My toes! Pretty!” Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera to the salon…but we took some pics when we got home. It was really so fun! Such a great, girly afternoon!

6.14.10Brookfield Zoo
by Quinn
We had a fun-filled summer day at Brookfield Zoo with the Mullin family on Saturday. Avery basically walked the entire zoo and refused to sit in the stroller! (Until it started raining…convenient, eh?) I really can’t believe how far she walked. She had a ton of fun and was definitely keeping up with her big cousins!
6.8.10Chatty Cathy
by Quinn
All of the sudden, Avery is becoming quite the little chatterbox. We have noticed that her vocabulary is expanding as is her ability to speak in sentences. Each day we are in stitches about something she has said. This is really such a fun stage of her life.
~In her precious 2-year old voice~
Avery: Momma, I want food. Me: I bet you are very hungry. We are almost to your classroom where you will eat breakfast. (A few seconds later.) Avery: Okay, I want cake. (Not sure where she is eating cake for breakfast? Haha!)
(**UPDATE** I told Avery’s teacher this morning that she was asking for cake yesterday and she started laughing. She went on to explain that when they serve the children blueberry muffins or cornbread, they make it in a cake pan so it actually comes out looking like cake versus a muffin. So, all of the kids call it “cake”. Makes sense! I should have known that Avery knew exactly what she was talking about!)
Avery to Wilson: Hello my buddy! (Awww!)
After seeing a couple on TV embracing. Avery: Momma, they huggin’. (Ha!)
Avery: I all done cause it’s all gone. (Makes sense!)
I will be sure to post more of these ‘Avery-isms’ as she says them…I am sure there are more to come!

6.1.10Sink Bath
by Quinn
Warm weather, outside play = nightly baths for Avery. Mommy’s tired back = sink baths. It’s so much easier and Avery thinks it’s such a treat!
Even Wilson got in on the fun. (He really wasn’t having that much fun though.)
5.26.10Sand & Water
by Quinn
Most recently we bought a sand and water table for Avery. She logged about 15 hours of play in that thing the first weekend we bought it! (Probably the best purchase ever!!!!)
